Jamaica: How Much Does it Cost?

Credit: Unknown

We have officially reached our last day in Jamaica, I know sad. But as usual, it’s time to find out how much a trip to this beautiful country will cost you. So without further ado, let’s get into the breakdown of it, so you’ll know if you can spend your next vacation on these beautiful beaches.

Flights

As usual, I will give you a price range for each economy, business, and first-class. I will be using the prices of JFK and LAX to come up with this price range. One good thing about Jamaica though, at least if you’re in the US, is that the flights aren’t going to be extremely long like some of the other places we’ve discussed.

Economy

Price Range: $330-$400 As you can see, flights here really aren’t that expensive. And since you’re looking at flights that are less than 10 hours paying for a higher class might not be justified.

Business

Price Range: $700- $1,300, still not overly expensive. But as stated it just might not be justified. Keep in mind if you’re flying from the US, this class will also be more similar to a premium economy.

First-Class

Price Range: $800-$1,300, as you can see this class is basically the same price as business. So if you want a nicer seat than the economy, just go for first class. Keep in mind though, this first class won’t be as nice as you’d find on longer flights.

Hotels

Much like flights, I will also give you a price range for budget, mid-range, and luxury hotels. Plus as an added benefit you can actually find all-inclusive resorts here. So if you’re like me, and you enjoy those benefits then springing for a luxury hotel might be worth it.

Budget

Price Range: $25-$50 per night

Recommendation: None, the budget options are full of Airbnb’s and none of them look nice. They look like they have bugs in the sheets. While Airbnb’s aren’t bad options I won’t recommend them in any country because they often lack certain security features that you’d find at resorts. And some countries are more dangerous than others to the point where it’s just smart to book a stay in a place that has security.

Mid-Range

Price Range: $70-$200

Recommendation: Spanish Court Hotel

With rooms starting at $160 per night, this is a good mid-range option. It comes with free breakfast and your typical hotel amenities, but it’s also close to many different activities. One of the activities you might be most interested in is the Bob Marley Museum.

Luxury

Price Range: $200-$1,500

Recommendation: Moon Palace, Jamaica

I love this resort. It’s easily one of the best places I’ve stayed at, and it has so much to offer. To start it is all-inclusive. You also can get room credits that can be used on things like massages and excursions. They also have fantastic food and many things to choose from just at the resort like a surf simulator, a luxury spa, multiple pools, and buffets. Rooms here are currently half off, so they start at $450 per night. However, if you’d like the room shown above that is well over $1,000 per night.

Excursions

As usual, excursions were discussed earlier in the week. But if you choose a hotel that doesn’t offer excursion credits, then you should plan about $100 per activity, per person. Some things are cheaper, some things are more expensive. That’s just a number that gives you a good balance.

Food

Price: Roughly $25 per meal, per day.

Total Cost.

Now, to give you the total price range so you can know if you can come to Jamaica. Keep in mind this price range is for a 1-week trip for 1 person. If you’re not a solo traveler, just multiply the numbers by the number of guests.

Price Range: $1,800-$13,530 Keep in mind for this price range I used the high end of the luxury price range, and not the room cost of my recommendation.

In Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed learning about Jamaica, and I hope you can afford to go here. It’s well worth the trip. If you haven’t yet please subscribe.
