Spain: How Much Does it Cost?
Spain: Credit Unknown
OK, we have reached our last day in Spain. So now it’s time to answer that all-important question. Can you afford it? So without further ado, let’s get into the expenses breakdown so you know what to expect before you book.
Flights
As usual, I will give you a price range for each economy, business, and first-class. I will be using the prices of JFK and LAX to come up with this price range.
Economy
Price range: $460-$600. As you can flights to Spain really aren’t as expensive as you might think. Keep in mind though, that this is a long flight so you might not want to be cheap with your seat.
Business
Price range: $1,200- $3,200 as you might have expected, higher classes take quite a jump. Even still the extra legroom you get might just make it worth it.
First-Class
Price range: $4,100- $8,500 Not as expensive as some of the other places we’ve traveled to, but it’s still well past budget travel prices. You do get seats that fully recline and have plenty of legroom, plus more depending on the airline you choose. If that makes it worth it to you, then go for it.
Hotels.
Much like flights, I will also give you a price range for budget, mid-range, and luxury hotels. Plus as an added benefit you can actually find all-inclusive resorts here. So if you’re like me, and you enjoy those benefits then springing for a luxury hotel might be worth it.
Budget Hotel
Price range: $38-$75
Recommendation: Poseidon Resort.

I will admit this hotel is a little dated. Parts of it need some renovations, but rooms here start at $41 a night. And for a budget stay, it is one of the few cheap hotels that offer an additional all-inclusive package. The all-inclusive upgrade will cost you an extra $39 per night, which still makes it one of the cheaper options. It is also close to some beautiful beaches.
Mid-Range
Price range: $75-$250
Recommendation: Barcelo Corralejo Bay- Adults Only

With rooms starting at $136 per night, this adults-only hotel also has an all-inclusive package. That will just add $51 per night. Keep in mind you can’t bring your kids, but there is also the added benefit that you won’t have to deal with other people’s kids. This hotel does present a problem though. It’s not in Mainland Spain. So you really have to pay attention to where you’re booking flights to. This would also change the excursions that are available to you.
Luxury
Price range: $250-$1,250
Recommendation: None.
Biggest Luxury Rambla Cataluyna, Barcelona Spain.
It seems that all of the all-inclusive hotels, and fancy resorts don’t exist in Mainland Spain. All of the resorts exist on their island territories off the coast of Western Africa. And I see no point in visiting Spain if you’re not going to visit places like Madrid and Barcelona. There are some nice options in those places like the Rambla Cataluyna. It starts at $900 per night and is a good option if you’re traveling with a group since it sleeps 12 people. While it is nice, I can’t recommend it because it doesn’t offer luxury amenities. It’s just a fancy Airbnb really. And that’s really most of what you’ll find in Barcelona.
Excursions.
As usual, we’ve discussed excursions before, so I’ll just give you a basic price range of about how much money you should bring for activities each day. You should plan on about $200 per day.
Food.
If you can’t find a hotel with an all-inclusive package you should expect to spend anywhere from $10- $60 per meal, depending on how fancy you’d like to be.
Total Costs.
As usual, this price range is set for a solo traveler for a week, simply just multiply the cost based on the number of people in your group to get a more accurate price range for your needs.
Price range: $2,450-$17,500
