World Wide Travel Advisory Update.
Now normally we would be continuing on with Zimbabwe, and I will be releasing that newsletter later today. But if you follow the Facebook page then you know I promised to give an update on the Travel Advisory the US government has released.
This should be quick. They didn’t highlight any countries in particular, it was just a broad statement. “Due to increased tensions in various locations around the world, the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations or violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests, the Department of State advises U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution. U.S. citizens should,”
Above that is the official statement given. Now this does not mean you should cancel your trips, and hunker down. The odds of you being a victim of a terrorist attack are still incredibly slim in most of the world. However, what you should do before you travel is to save the local US Embassy number on your phone. It would also be smart to know its location. With that said, if an Embassy is under attack, like the one in Lebanon, you might want to avoid going there.
Here is a link for all of the services Embassies are supposed to provide to their citizens. https://diplomacy.state.gov/how-do-embassies-help-u-s-citizens/
I have also searched for recent terrorist attacks globally that would justify such a broad warning. It seems however that it is purely in response to the war in Isreal. So avoid the middle east (as usual) and you probably won’t have a single issue.
